Desert Mirage Alpaca Ranch LLC. We, (Chuck & Sandi Baxter) have been raising top quality Huacaya alpacas since 2006. We currently have 33 alpacas, with about 4 pregnant. Little ones due in June 2020, and Dec 2020. We are located in the beautiful Sonoran Desert in Wittmann, Arizona.
Our purpose is to educate people about alpacas and to care for them. We will be doing classes in August, 2020 on alpacas. On the ranch is a store where we sell products that are made from our own alpacas, and from Peru. Our alpacas are raised to produce this luxury fiber of the highest quality. We train them to be halter friendly, and they compete in shows. We are breeders, teachers, boarders, with sales of these lovely alpacas.
Alpaca's are indigenous to South America, primarily Peru, Chile, Bolivia. The main purpose of breeding alpaca's is the production of high quality fiber on these animals that is luxurious, soft, hypoallergenic fiber that wicks away moisture. Alpacas are a wonderful herd animal, now considered agriculture. They are a very docile, curious animal, and are just plain fun to be around. The noise that they make is a very calming hum.
You must make an appt before coming out. We're open for appts on Fridays and Sundays, come out and see these great animals of fiber producers. Some Saturdays were open during winter days. Summer Saturday is open.
